For yourself!
- I know it’s easier said than done (especially since I eat fast food several times a week) but cutting out, or at least cutting down on fast food will show an immediate increase in your wallet! Fast food and restaurants are convenient and quick, but try packing your lunch, or limit the fast food to once a week.
- Finally quit smoking… this is one of my resolutions every year, and this year I just might stick to it. At $5 a pack, a pack a day smoker will spend over $1800 a year on cigarettes. Chances are the cigarette tax will continue to rise bringing that number even higher
- Track your spending, just for a week. Track every dollar you spend for a week, you’ll be surprised to find out where your money is really going. A very eye opening experience that will help you stay on track with your spending.
- Pay yourself first. This is a good time fort an honest self-analysis: What have your saving habits been like in the last year? If it seems like all the money you make falls straight though your fingers and gets sucked up by bills and other expenses, think hard about a responsible amount you could start to view as yet another monthly bill. Could you handle one more $50 bill? How about a $200 bill? Even if you can only handle a $15 or $20 bill, that’s better than nothing. Start tucking away money away for yourself, pronto!
